Children and Young People
Worship at the Heart of our Community
Sunday Stars
Welcome to St James Sunday Stars!
We encourage our children and young people to worship with their family for the first 15–20 minutes of the Sunday service before gathering together in the church hall.
We currently have two groups: one for children aged 0–5 and one for those aged 6 and upwards.
Wonder-full Worship
Our younger children enjoy a time of ‘Wonder-full Worship’, including songs, story-time, a simple craft or activity, and prayer time.
Heart, Head, Hands
Our older children examine the weekly Gospel reading through a ‘heart, head, hands’ approach. They are encouraged to consider their own experiences, unpack the story to learn more about God, and consider how they will live out what they have learnt.
The children and young people then return to the main service to join their families for Communion and the final hymn.
When does Sunday Stars meet?
Sunday Stars runs during our 10.45am Sunday service each week, with the exception of the third Sunday of the month, which is All Age Worship.
All are welcome to come along.

Our Schools
There are two voluntary aided Church of England schools in our parish; St James’ Church of England Primary School and St John’s Stonefold Church of England Primary School.
We have very close links with both schools and Fr. Simon and other members of the congregation are on the governing boards.
Fr. Simon regularly leads collective worship and supports the schools with key events throughout the Christian calendar.
Both schools regularly attend church for collective worship and to hold special services and festivals during the Church year.
For more details and photos please refer to the school’s website and Facebook pages .
